1. Symptoms

There was a lot of fan noise (high speed rotation) on the laptop even if you didn't overload it, so I took it apart and re-applied the thermal compound.

2. Removing screws

 

​

 

There are no screws under the top anti-slip pad. Only the bottom.

The screw hole holding the hinge on the left side is damaged. The screw is spinning in error. HP The laptop that looks like this breaks this part easily.

3. Thermal compound re-application work

 

​

 

Cleaned the existing thermal and applied a new thermal compound (MX4).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I wiped off the existing hardened thermal and applied a new thermal.

4. Check CPU temperature

 

​

 

Left picture) Before cleaning - it went up to 69 degrees without much work.

 

Midterm picture) After cleaning - it goes up to 51 degrees if I don't do much.

 

Right picture) It's going up to 67 degrees, including window updates.

 

​

 

Because the CPU temperature is usually low, the CPU fan has reduced the number of high-speed rotations.

5. Other

 

​

 

The touchpad is bad. The touchpad touches and pops at will. Since I use a USB wireless mouse, I disconnected the touchpad from the main board.
